MASSIVE POTENTIAL for staging the piece

Now after reading Vanessa's last link we've all noticed the constant refernce to 'The Shining' when reading Freud's Essay. I've thrown around some ideas of maybe turning the college itself into our production maybe creating a promenade performance around the college showing ways of using the uncanny along the "journey" (sorry Tim).

Anyway today I could burst with excitement as I have been reading up on Punchdrunk theater company in New York. Turns out; that they were only behind a fabulous theatre piece in a GossipGirl episode I watched and it was AMAZE!!!

It is called 'Sleep No More' and its a retelling of Macbeth set in a fictional hotel with lots of different rooms where the characters go in and out of constantly performing. The audience follow which ever character they choose, or several, and the story is always the same but depending on what character you choose to follow you see the details of their P.O.V.

now if you want to see it in action: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-13167360 or you can hunt down the Gossip Girl episode where they're actually experiencing it... Gossip Girl season 5, episode 7 'The Big Sleep No More'

Imagine us as characters of uncanny and the audience choose who they follow it is not necessarily a narrative but it is several unique experience of the character. The characters could have different influences taken from uncanny, monochrome, dreams and the set and experiences themsleves could involve the uncanny....

Make up-wise its great! Sound and lighting are integral throughout, acting and dance are at the forefront, and we can manufacture the uncanny through set so intricately.....From looking and thinking about this idea I feel the possibilites are endless and every one of our disciplines can be utilized to its best!!!

I also considered maybe doing it all at night.....we'd need to work really hard to try and sort this but let me know what you all think and if anything I hope you all get inspired by this! This really helped me think of new ways to stage this!!!!
